The Nigerian Journal of Solar Energy (NJSE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing research in solar energy and renewable energy technologies. Published by the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria, NJSE serves as a platform for researchers, academics, and industry professionals to share cutting-edge findings in solar energy applications, photovoltaic systems, solar thermal technologies, and sustainable energy solutions for Africa and beyond.

Manuscripts should be submitted through our online submission system. Follow these steps:

1. Register as an author on the journal website
2. Log in to your author dashboard
3. Click on "Submit Manuscript" and follow the step-by-step submission process
4. Upload your manuscript file (Word or LaTeX format)
5. Provide author information, abstract, and keywords
6. Submit for review

NJSE follows a double-blind peer review process, ensuring both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. The process includes:

1. Initial Screening: Editorial team checks for scope, formatting, and plagiarism
2. Reviewer Assignment: 2-3 independent experts in the field are assigned
3. Peer Review: Reviewers evaluate originality, methodology, significance, and clarity
4. Editorial Decision: Editor makes final decision based on reviewer recommendations
5. Revision (if needed): Authors revise and resubmit for final approval

Yes, NJSE is a fully open-access journal and charges Article Processing Charges (APC) to cover publication costs. The current APC is $500 USD for authors from developed countries. Authors from developing countries and Nigeria may be eligible for waivers or discounts. For more details, please visit our APC page.

Authors retain full copyright of their published work. NJSE publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which allows anyone to share and adapt the work with proper attribution.

Yes, NJSE offers APC waivers for:

• Authors from low-income countries (as defined by the World Bank)
• Graduate students and early-career researchers (with supervisor recommendation)
• Authors facing financial hardship

Waiver requests should be submitted at the time of manuscript submission.

Authors may receive one of the following decisions:

• Accept: Manuscript accepted without changes
• Minor Revision: Small changes required before acceptance
• Major Revision: Significant changes required; re-review may be needed
• Reject and Resubmit: Manuscript shows potential but needs major revision
• Reject: Manuscript does not meet journal standards

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following guidelines:

• Use Microsoft Word or LaTeX format
• Double-spaced text with 12-point Times New Roman font
• Include title, abstract (150-250 words), keywords (3-6)
• Figures and tables placed within the text or at the end
• References in APA or IEEE format
• Maximum length: 8,000 words (including references)
